The Highlights There is no denying the luxurious details throughout the property. From the stunning Jaume Plensa statue in the lobby to the elegant touch of a harp player in the tea room, the hotel looks and feels the part of a prestige establishment. Furthermore, the location is absolutely perfect for exploring the city, and the service was consistently attentive and professional. The Atmosphere Despite the high-end decor, the hotel suffers from a lack of charm and energy. It felt quite "boring" for a property of this caliber. We visited the restaurant twice over the weekend, and even during peak times, it wasn't particularly lively. For a 5-star experience, you expect a bit of atmosphere, but the vibe here was remarkably flat. Dining The food was hit-or-miss. We tried several appetizers, and while some were fine, others missed the mark on refinement. For example, the cheese plate was humongous but lacked the curation and quality of cheeses you would expect at a world-class hotel. "The hotel facility and room were decent enough, however, my chief complaint was with the shuttle service they use to bring travelers from the airport. I received an email from the hotel partner to provide transportation, and I booked a pickup for my wife, arriving sperately, for $106. The service was to meet my wife with a sign with her name on it, but the driver never left the parking lot and it ended up being 45 minutes before they could connect. An Uber would have been twice as fast and much cheaper. Whereas this service was booked via the hotel system, I complained to them, but they shrugged it off and told me to take it up with the vendor. This is obviously some scam run by the vendor, since the driver said they never leave their cars to pick up passengers. So beware, if you use this service, you are paying double the usual fare and wasting time for nothing!"
