"The best thing about this hotel is its location and the beauty of the property itself. The grounds are stunning, and the overall atmosphere is very nice.
Unfortunately, almost everything else was disappointing. The service was by far the weakest part of our stay. On several occasions, I called to request items that were missing from our room. I waited a long time, followed up multiple times, and in some cases never received what I had requested. I tried to give the hotel the benefit of the doubt and assumed it was a one-time issue, but the same problems continued throughout our stay.
Another frustrating aspect was the tipping culture. I have no problem tipping for good service, and I did tip during my stay. However, it often felt as though staff expected a tip before providing decent service, which made interactions uncomfortable. While some employees were friendly, the level of attention and service seemed noticeably different when tips were involved.
The property itself also feels quite dated and in need of renovation. Many things in our room showed their age, including the towels, bedding, and other amenities. Even the kettle in our room did not work. While the room was reasonably clean, the overall condition of the hotel felt old and worn.
Overall, the location and beautiful property are the hotel’s strongest points. Unfortunately, poor service, the constant expectation of tips, and the outdated facilities significantly affected our experience."
