I appreciated that there were people available on-site to help me with questions I had (instead of having to call an 800 number and speak to someone in a foreign land).

I wanted to introduce a guest of mine to Michigan. The Crooked River Lodge was the perfect place to do this.
Situated on the Crooked River, the Lodge had nearby trails, a great indoor pool and jacuzzi, as well as a roaring fire in the fireplace and an outdoor fire pit as well.
Very comfortable with nearby restaurants serving fresh perch and whitefish from Lake Michigan. I would definitely return for another visit.

I was looking for a decent, dog friendly hotel in the vicinity of Alpena. This hotel met all of my criteria and then some. It is setback off of the water some, but the property is literally right on the Lake Huron beach. Easy walk from the room to the beach. The Up North 23 restaurant is right next-door. Beautiful outside dining with a lake view. Got one meal to go from there and they catered to me every step of the way since my dog was not actually allowed inside. The hotel was typical, with a...

I'm so excited we chose to stay here. Not only was the price point solid, but the quality of our stay was wonderful and left us well rested. The bed was super comfortable, showers were hot with great water pressure, it was quiet early in the night even with it on a main road, clean and well cared for, and the location was perfect for getting around. We even ran late and the front desk had a plan in case we missed them to check in. Will absolutely stay again.

Beautiful cabin, very clean. Loved the showers, and especially loved the heat lamp/fan in the Master Suite. Calm week listening to the river from the balcony or back deck. Nights are so quiet and you can see all the stars! My kids and dog had a blast running around, enjoying nature/hiking. You don't get that in the city. We plan on returning!

This hotel was perfect. Very clean and quiet. Beds were very comfortable and the A/C unit was not very loud. Breakfast was easy to access and extremely delicious. The elevator worked very well and when you pushed the button it did not delay closing it's doors. Great amenities including a luxurious pool. Free fast Wi-Fi and very easy parking. There were lot of options for places to eat and a Walmart nearby containing food items you may need. To sum it up, out of the three days in a row were we...

We stayed at the Continental Inn for two nights and it was a wonderful experience. Everyone there was very friendly and helpful. It didn't have that plastic feel like a chain hotel. We will definitely stay there again.

Had to find a room at the last minute. Best choice we could have made! Super clean room, owners were so nice. Great location, but quiet at night! Would stay again!

We thoroughly enjoyed being able to relax in the Jacuzzi and Pool after a day on the slopes! Everything was clean and enjoyable and the staff was terrific. They even had delicious nuts and healthy food for the breakfast!
