"This is definitely an older property but for the most part well kept. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was fun to take the kayaks out. The only negative was that fishing off the docks was discouraged even though the actual fishing dock was underwater due to the river being too high due to earlier rains. All in all we had a very pleasant stay here. It was easy to get from here to everywhere we wanted to go."

"Our stay at the Colonial Inn was pleasant overall. The inn is charming and located in a beautiful area that’s perfect for walking and very close to the lake. The beds were uncomfortable, and one appeared to be broken on one side, causing it to lean and make quite a bit of noise. With improved housekeeping and updated beds, this could be a wonderful place to stay."

"The hotel is located about 2 miles from central Petosky, out in the countryside, away from the main activities of the city. The hotel is modern, comfortable, well maintained, and has a distinct hipster vibe. We were hoping to see Little Traverse Bay from the hotel, but the view was surprisingly blocked by tall evergreen trees. The rooms were comfortable and spacious and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was clean and spacious and the shower was very good. The WiFi was easy to connect to and the signal was decent. The staff was somewhat attentive and friendly but a little too laid back to provide a sense of professionalism. This is probably preferred by Millennial Hipsters :) The cost was outrageous: $500 per night for a room with 2 queen beds. Although our stay was pleasant, I probably would not stay here again due to the distance from Petosky and the cost."
