「Very Good. Although the room is small, it is clean and comfortable. I stayed two nights there on different days. Queen bed room is better than twin bed bedroom. The twin bed room is very small and narrow and no place to put stuff, while bathroom is comparatively too big. If you want to use microwave, you have to unplug the water kettle and switch it for microwave .」

「The rooms met the old-world charm expected of a hotel of its age. The food and staff were both fantastic & welcoming, with the added advantage of booking meals & drinks to my room. Recommended as the place to stay in Wanganui. 」

「What a charming hotel with very friendly staff. Right in the centre of this beautiful little town. Cosy , but clean room with a lovely verandah where I sat to have my morning cuppa. 」

「We really enjoyed our stay at Escape to Picton. The welcome glass of wine and cheese was a lovely touch, and the staff were warm and welcoming. The room was spotless and very comfortable, the bathtub was a highlight, breakfast was very good, and the location was ideal. Would happily stay again.」

「We started our NZ vacation here after landing in Christchurch and it was the perfect start. The pub served wonderful appetizers and desserts. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the bay--great for settling in and relaxation. The pool was cooler than I hoped. Breakfast is self-serve with limited but thoughtful options. Sharing facilities wasn't a problem, but there weren't many other guests during our stay. Staff was warmly welcoming and very accommodating. 」
