The staff amazing starting with the front desk, bars, the towel lady, security guards, etc. Everyone made the experience amazing The only thing I found as an improvement opportunity, the food condition was not good. Food was not fresh and the texture was terrible. The flavor was normal but the cooking technique not. Or maybe it's not fresh so the texture is not good."

"We spent three nights here and enjoyed the jungle setting away from town. Our room had a convenient outdoor kitchen overlooking the pool. Breakfast was good as was the comfort of the room. We would return "

"We were in a bit of shock when we reached Cocomar. The pictures must have been taken years back as the rooms were rather worn out. We had to pay extra to upgrade to a suite because our original room was tiny and rather depressing. The room was smelly - probably not aired out enough. Beds in the suite were good size but squeaky and one had a whole under the mattress fixed with a cardboard. Breakfast is part of the deal, however, it’s basically the same food (a plate with rice, beans, scrambled eggs, toast and 2 pieces of plantains) every morning, unless you order from the menu and pay for it. The ad promotes “a private beach”, which is true, it’s beautiful but it is not recommended to swim there due to strong currents. Big bummer as you have to drive 45-60 mins to Quepos. The pool are and the hotel surroundings are very well maintained. Wifi worked perfectly, the staff were really nice and friendly but didn’t speak much English. "

"This is a very strange property. There are a lot of hotels, private condominiums sharing the same facilities but having separate gated access. The common grounds, however, aren’t being looked after so well. The Selvamar section we stayed in was okay, but a bit tired now. Room was much smaller than anywhere else we stayed in Costa Rica, but it was comfortable. Breakfast was decent, but the restaurant by the main pool where we had a dinner wasn’t the best and not worth the money they charge. Two pools are kids friendly and they are of pretty decent size, but not very deep. Some other activities, like mini golf, are charged separately. There is a new high-rise apartment building buying built right by the main pool area & beach, which will look awful. I wouldn’t stay here again, because it doesn’t provide the Costa Rica experience I like, it’s more like something taken out of Benidorm, but I do understand why some might be very keen on it."

"Clean room!!! Cleaning staff made sure to clean all areas without touching our personal items. Great security. FYI I Didn’t really like the Mountain View of the hotel. Walking distance to downtown area and beach. Also store/liquor store next to hotel. "
