Added an additional fee of $50 per night to the $440 charge I had paid previvous paid per contact with Experia for a four night stay for TWO People per night without aurtorization allegedly because the second person was not with me at the time of sign in despite the Fact that there was no mention of such a requirement in the contract I signed . So buyers Beware !!

The property & room were nice. There was a frig but no coffee maker in room. AC worked good. The pool was great. There were not many pool chairs but they were always available. Also chairs set up on the sand for use. There was a rince off after coming from the sand. Breakfast was good however we were charged for coffee. We did not know you could not have refills. We got up to leave & they called us over to pay. It was a very high cost for coffee which is why I give it less stars. Seemed like a rip off & they didnt tell us. We mentioned it to the front desk & they said thanks for letting them know but can't do anything about it. Easy safe walk to town. We also walked from the hotel, across the highway to El Miro trail, saw lots of monkeys.

Lovely resort with lots of greenery and colorful murals, a great pool, easy beach access, and good food. The front desk staff were not the most courteous folks, but the restaurant/bar staff were wonderful, happy to make any drink we requested if they had the ingredients. The garden view rooms are older and smaller, but comfortable. Part of our group was in a pool view room, which was larger, newer, and nicer. I would stay here again if I'm fortunate enough to return to Jaco.

The staff was great. I was able to walk in town. It took about 15 minutes. Nice beach bar. Free breakfast was Costa Rican breakfast that included beans and rice, plantains, sausage and scrambled eggs. The other option was the American breakfast that included pancakes and fruit. Coffee was amazing!

Two ladies that work in the front desk are very rude. This is not our first time staying in this hotel. We have been here a couple more times but this time will be the last one. Wrong accusation of smoking in the room and as soon as she knocks on the door, we opened she was asking for $100 fine. And this new management this place is not worth to stay a night so I highly recommended you guys to stay away from this place. They some bas rules we were overcharged for an extra guest the manager is very rude Stay away from this place.

If you are looking for just your standard budget friendly place, this place works. Staff was great, food was decent, rooms are basic, beach is nice and pool was good. Just enough outside of town to relax, but not close enough to walk into town.

Hotel South beach is a good hotel in a great location- beach front, about 5 minutes from downtown Jaco, close to El Miro and several excursions such as zip lining, ATVs, etc. Unfortunately, we were hit with some extreme rain from a close by hurricane while staying here, causing the town and our first floor rooms flooded. The staff was so incredible at moving us up swiftly. All of the staff here are so kind, big shout out to the bar tender Efrain who kept us entertained in the rain. For the price of the hotel, the rooms are to be expected. But I would highly highly recommend staying here if you want to go surfing, be one with nature, and be around down to earth people. Pura vida!

Great for beach access

Room was spacious and fairly clean with strong AC and amazing water pressure. The pool was really nice, and we regularly saw beautiful parrots fly overhead while we swam. Staff was lovely once you get past the check-in where they were pretty aggressive about selling tours. Restaurant and bar were great, and the breakfast was perfect for an active day. Unfortunately, their policy is to charge $20/hour for late check out, but when the electricity and water went out 3 hours before our check out leaving us without a shower that day, they offered no compensation or extra time to clean ourselves. Really, the only flaw of this place was the reception staff. Otherwise, lovely place!
