The men and women working the bars (swim up was the best) were all friendly and made the stay great. The restaurant had the best breakfasts, coffee and OJ. The pool was very relaxing. Even the other guests were friendly.

The staff is extremely kind and will help you in any way you ask. Rooms were clean, pool was spectacular, and the view was beautiful. This is the best hotel I have ever been to. Period.

Receptionist Tina was very plesent and fun talk to. Breakfast was great, all the bar/ breakfast stuff was plesent and helpful. Room was clean and the pool was great as well. The only thing is the trucks making anesesary jbreak noise, the truck stop is close but the roud is flat. We got the free sparkling wine. The view from room was amazing.

The cleanliness is excellent, and the staff are incredibly friendly; they make you feel right at home—with the exception that here, you simply relax and enjoy the tranquility and privacy of this beautiful spot. We loved our stay at Marala. The view was amazing, food was great, and we saw capuchin monkeys more than once. My son was in love with the dessert crepes and I got the mango avocado ceviche almost every night of our stay because it was so, so good. Breakfast was also great. My only complaint is that there wasn't enough space anywhere to hang towels and swimsuits to dry! Also, the area is kind of lacking in activities and entertainment other than visiting the beach. We didn't find any local food that was particularly great either (the hotel restaurant's food *is* great but a bit on the pricy side). That said, you won't be sad about a stay here! Just plan to spend most of your time on the property. The view from the pool cannot be beat, especially with a tasty drink in hand from the swim-up bar! Marala was definitely a highlight of our trip!

What my husband and I love most about this place is its privacy and tranquility; they make us feel right at home. The kindness and excellent service provided by the staff are exceptional and truly unique. There are so many good things I could say about this place—there isn't a single negative aspect. We really enjoyed our quiet stay at Marala. It was very clean, the room and bathroom were large and the entirety of the front of the resort offered amazing views. The restaurant and bar offered great selections! ALL the staff, front desk, waiters/waitresses, kitchen, housekeeping and bar tenders were kind and courteous. We would stay again!

This place is about 1hour and 45min from SJO and it was the perfect trip for a few days to visit nearby Parrita and Jaco. We wanted a quiet romantic bitoque hotel and it’s exactly what we got. We walked to the beach (about 10-15 min walk) and then relaxed by the pool. The property views were amazing! The room was clean and comfortable.
