"Room was good, bathroom had issues with the shower, spout was loose, so the spout had to be held to get the shower on. Bed was too high for a shorter person"

Breakers Resort & Beach Bar

Breakers Resort & Beach Bar

10/10 Excellent
"Where do I start? Everything was great at Breakers. I loved our lakeview room, the food & drinks at The Club were excellent, and all of the staff members we encountered were very friendly. We were there for the Mackinac Bridge Walk and I was so relieved that the hotel offered a shuttle so you didn't have to worry about finding parking. We will definitely be back!"

Murray Hotel

Murray Hotel

8/10 Good
"We stayed at the Murray Hotel for two nights over Labor Day weekend. The location is certainly convenient, and the staff we encountered at both check-in and check-out were very friendly and helpful. We also really appreciated the luggage service to and from the ferry dock—it made arriving and departing the island much easier. We really enjoyed having a street-view room, especially in the evenings when we could watch and listen as the island quieted down after the last ferry departed. It was equally enjoyable waking up to the sights and sounds of Mackinac Island slowly coming to life. Unfortunately, the room itself was disappointing for the price. It was very small and outdated, and there were some concerning maintenance issues. The smoke alarm was hanging from the ceiling by its wires, and the outlet in the main room was so loose it wouldn’t hold a plug—the cord simply fell out. There was also no refrigerator, which was disappointing for a two-night stay. It would have been nice to keep beverages cold and have somewhere to store leftovers. On the positive side, the shower was updated and the water pressure was excellent. We were disappointed with the limited hot tub hours, and unfortunately the designated adult time was not enforced during our stay. Overall, the staff, location, and luggage service were definite positives. However, given the condition of the room and limited amenities, we’ll likely explore other lodging options on our next annual visit to Mackinac Island."

"Staff was great, rooms were nice, beach view and fire pit were amazing. The beach definitely doesn’t match up to the hotel cover picture (probably AI generated or cleaned up) but worth having it!"
