The land of the ancient vikings is a barren and cold one where it's hard for plants to grow and animals to live and the only precious commodity you can get from the land are timber woods and iron. So to surcice, the ancient vikings have to conduct these daring raids to faraway land to procure resource to survive their harsh home. It is savagery out of neccesity not out of choice. The weather condition around these fjords can change rapidly which itself is fascinating to see. But because of it you better pack well to prepare for any weather condition if you're planning to do a fjord cruise tour. A raincoat can especially be a lifesaver at times :)
