I arrived at this motel in the middle of winter - very much out of season - to find it in the middle of being remodelled, so there was no office or any staff present on my arrival. Lee Vining was a cute little town with friendly people and wonderful amenities after a long day hiking around Yosemite!
Why the aggressive approach and overbearing signage everywhere? No this, no that, don't do this, don't go there, don't touch this. If it's such a big deal to let people use your wasroom then capitalise on it, draw them in and, while they're waiting..
I'll definitely go back!
We went to do research and enjoy the beauty of the region. We loved it all June Lakes Loop was marvelous. I recommend having a tour planned.
Town is pretty much closed for the winter. It is close enough to serve as a budget hotel choice for June lake skiing but to far away for Mammoth.
