The staff was friendly and the hotel was in great location for seeing local sites. Very walkable and close access to public transportation. The standard room with two twin beds is quite small, with little room to walk around the beds. However, overall a pleasant stay and would recommend this hotel to others.

Check in was easy and the staff were very helpful. The hotel was clean and I liked that it was within walking distance of the tourist areas. I took off a couple stars because the beds are like slabs of stone, very uncomfortable.

2 nights stay in Terrace Kiyomizu Kyoto
The hotel experience was unsatisfactory, with dirty bed covers causing my partner to develop a neck rash. The bathtub was poorly cleaned, as depicted in the image. Additionally, a 1000 yen deposit for the parking card was taken without informing us to return it for a refund. During checkout, the staff failed to remind us to return the parking ticket for the 1000 yen refund. While the service was acceptable, the overall cleanliness of the hotel was subpar.

The staff was super nice and helpful. The hotel is a cute boutique hotel in a very walkable area. The rooms are spacious. It was clean. The rooftop terrace has a nice view of the area. The only downside is the beds are hard but I think this may be common in Japan and they do offer assistance with this. Overall we enjoyed our stay. We would definitely stay there again if we visit Kyoto.

The hotel and staff were wonderful. There is a shrine a few blocks away. 15 minute bus ride from Kyoto station which was packed many times.

The Terrace Kiyomizu is a clean and well kept hotel. It's right on the door step to the famous Kiyomizudera Temple which comes with it's pros and cons. The hotel is located within walking distance to quite a few sights that Kyoto has to offer but as it's so close to Kiyomizudera Temple, you can expect a lot of foot traffic and tour buses/ cars driving past as they head to that temple. In terms of getting around to other places in Kyoto, the Terrace is located near a commonly used bus stop so you won't have an issue getting to Kyoto station which you can then get to other sights. Overall, my partner and I were happy with the size of the room we got and found the stay at the Terrace pretty comfortable

The Staff were friendly and spoke English reasonably well. The rooms were a bit tiny but manageable for two persons. The beds were very firm. Excellent location, close to the kiyomizu temple, historic distict, nice terrace with laundry facilities which we used, close to bus stop and several dining options available nearby.

I had positive expectations for the Terrace Kiyomizu and I wasn't disappointed. This small hotel is a pleasant alternative to dour business hotels, on the one hand, and expensive luxury hotels on the other, offering clean comfort and pleasant service at a moderate price. The location is just about perfect, within easy walking distance (I did not go) to Kiyomizudera and other sites such as Sanjusandgendo and the Kyoto National Museum (a 10 minute walk, and I did go). There is a bus stand, for many city and private lines, on the corner. The only thing I did not like is the limited space for walking immediately outside the hotel doors. When traffic is light this is not an issue, but in the mornings, traffic is heavy on this narrow street, which connects with a major city street, Higashiyama Dori, half a block away. So, although there is a narrow sidewalk on the opposite side of the road, it is necessary to weave between cars when crossing. Even this probably isn't a big deal, but disabled visitors or those hauling large luggage do not always have easy access to the building (which unfortunately is true in much of Japan). Once inside the cool comfort of the hotel, however, there is a lift and everything is pleasantly laid out. With that noted, I strongly recommend the Terrace Kiyomizu. I had a wonderful two-night stay, and will return if I have a chance for another short Kyoto trip. Thank you, staff, for the enjoyable visit!

It was close to the bus stop and Kiyomizu shrine, fantastic shopping and the staff were incredible. The only thing was the bed was quite hard but other than that, no faults!

Had a great stay for a few nights. Hotel location is hard to beat, walking distance to many of the most famous sightseeing locations in Kyoto. Staff was warm and friendly, nice handwritten welcome note in my room. Room was just as expected, clean, simple, and more than sufficient. Hotel has a beautiful terrace on the roof with sofas and a nice view.

Welcoming hotel experience
First time trip to Japan and this hotel was a great place to stay. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and the rooms are a decent size (compared with the 3 other hotels we stayed in during our trip). The beds are a bit on the hard side, but other than that the hotel was a good find, with good local shops and bus links, and free hot and cold drinks provided from the machine in the lobby. The terrace provides a nice view and somewhere to sit and relax.

Great hotel!
Great hotel, 10 minutes away from the Kiyomizu-Dera temple. The staff is very helpful and welcoming. The rooms are medium-sized, perfect for a couple. The facilities as are expected, with a small self-service area on the ground floor. Would definitely recommend. Thanks for everything!
