Wven though the hotel is in the middle of everything, it was very quiet. Loved the Onsen & massage chairs. The room was bigger than I expected, given that most hotel rooms in Japan are tiny. This one felt like the size of a hotel room in the USA. My only minor complaint is I had asked them if my friend could check in before I got there and still put the room charge on my card that I used for the reservation. They said yes in the expedia messages, but when she got there, they made her use a machine to check in which required her credit card. When I got there a couple hours later, they could not change the charge to my card. Nor could they split the room charges. Like I said, a small issue, but I would have paid in advance if I had known they couldn't or wouldn't let her access the room before I got there. Overall, it's a lovely hotel and would stay there again.

It was a terrific property and I especially loved the communal bath. After a long day of walking and shopping, being able to use their facilities was amazing!! Definitely would come back to the same facility again.

Great location for a group of four
We are traveling with our 2 teenagers with two connecting rooms. The rooms are very spacious for all four of us and it's in a great location. Very friendly and helpful staff, great hotel amenities, highly recommended.

Fantastic stay. Loved the location of the hotel. The free tea and coffee, as well as the daily 'happy hour' drinks, were particularly welcome. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay again.

Location is superb, close to shopping and Nishiki Market is only about 8 minutes away, but area is also quiet and comfortable. The hotel also provides free drinks and snacks in the afternoon, as well as a late night snack. There is also a communal bath where we can relax after a busy day of sightseeing and shopping. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again on our next visit to Kyoto.

The property was beautiful and nice to stay at. The size of the room was large especially compared to other hotels in the area. However, the fact that one has to pick up many toiletries in the the first floor common area is horrendous. It is the job of cleaning staff to restock your room, not my job as guest to restock basic toiletries in the receiving area. Also the fact that if you loose one of the plastic keys to the room you'll be charged 3200 Yen is ourtrageous.

The public bath was good but the water temperature could have been warmer. The hotel has a free wine hour, snacks, and ochazuke hour. There are nice added features. The breakfast selection are very nice. We have a vegetarian in our family and she had a lot of choice with the vegitable centered breakfast.

We only stayed one night after discovering at checkin that the windows were blocked from looking outside. This was not mentioned on the Expedia website when booking. We found another hotel for the remaining nights. Otherwise it is a nice hotel.

The amenities were wonderful, especially the crib offering, the onsen, the little gardens, the coffee, water, and other free drink and snack offerings through the day and night. I only have 2 concerns: 1) I could hear some of the other guests above and beside us at times, and 2) we dropped off our bags early and asked the staff to put our insulated bag of baby milk into their freezer. But when we opened it later after 8 hours of supposedly being frozen- it wasn’t frozen. The ice inside had continued to melt. Luckily the milk was still cold from the ice, but it was not frozen.

Very convenient location as it is centrally located in Kyoto. Great facilities and great breakfast options. We had only one issue with laundry situation. It was a front loader and does washing and drying both according to the instructions. But even with 30 minutes extra drying. Our clothes were still wet. We ended up hanging all our clothes inside our room as there was no other coin laundry place nearby. If we didn’t have to to the laundry it would have been 10/10!

This hotel is centrally located. It is clean and close to everything. The hotel has a Japanese Public Bath that is nice to relax in after a long day of sightseeing. The rooms are nice and very clean. They are a little bit small, so if you need a bigger room make sure you reserve a bigger one. There are many stores, restaurants, and convenience store within walking distance. Most of the major tourist sites can be accessed from this hotel. However, you need to learn the various train lines in the area. it can be very confusing at first. Also, a lot of the temples/shrines on the east side still require a lot of hiking up the side of the mountain. If you are unable to walk, you should plan to take a public bus or taxi.

Effective, Clean, and Great Service
This hotel is very, very convenient. It provides very clean rooms, effective service, free japanese dinner food and a great sauna area. It is close to the Shijo station and thus features effective travel opportunities. The staff I had to interact with was pretty fluent in English. I can highly recommend this place for visitors to Kyoto. It provides a pretty good value for the price paid.

Hospitality at this hotel is great! Drinks and snack are provided to guests as service. It felt cozy to relax at the lounge, while sipping hot drinks. Especially since it snowed outside.

Clean & impressive service.
New hotel. It was clean, and service level was quite high. The location is another attractive point. It’s near city center so it was good to visit shopping area not just tourist spot.

Amazing hotel in a great Kyoto location, the Nishiki markets are just down the road along with plenty of great temples and things to explore. The hotel was beautiful and the room was a good size for Japan! So many wonderful added bonuses it really made for a special stay

Hotel Intergate was beautiful, the decor was stunning & rooms quite large for Japanese standards. The onsen was lovely. It’s in such a great location with so many added bonuses like happy hour drinks in the afternoon - We loved our stay!
