"A lovely little boutique hotel in the countryside near Hastings. Possibly a work in progress, the owners have been working tirelessly for several years to get it to the current state, but we were very happy with it.
We didn't try any of the food there, due to circumstances, but the afternoon teas looked wonderful!
Highly recommended, easy parking.
Just one thing to notice, if when you are approaching the entrance, if you are going uphill (southbound), be very vigilant because the sign is AFTER the entrance, if you're coming downhill (northbound) then it's much easier! If you reach the Beefeater at the top of the hill, do a u-turn (you don't want to eat there!)."
"Stayed for 3 nights for a wedding. Rooms were nice and spacious. Food was good and staff were very nice. Some rooms didn’t have AC and the weather was very hot."
"A warm welcome from the hostess with tea and excellent chocolate brownies taken by the small pond with the carp calmly swimming around. Bedroom cool despite the very hot weather outside which might be the benefit of an older building. Large bath for those who like to lay back and read a book. The gardens are extensive and majestic. Freshly cooked breakfast served in a small dining room with a seating area and a big open fire at the other end, which was obviously not in use! Well located for travel in to both Hastings and Rye"
"Pros: Location is great, only walking distance to the waterfront. Stayed for one night due to a business meeting the next day. The bedroom was spacious. Very quiet area, apart from the noisy seagulls in the middle of the night! The host lady was helpful, be aware the reception closes at 9.30pm so if you arriving later make sure you message the property!
Cons: The property on the inside feels and looks tiring and will definitely benefit from some renovation works, carpet does not give a good impression on the upper floors and within the bedroom itself. Check any appliances in your room such as as kettles, smoke was coming out from my kettle so i immediately remove from the socket. There is limited site parking and is very much controlled by traffic wardens."
"Cool hotel steeped in history and my room was huge and good.
Hotel looks a bit jaded in places but really doesn't distract from fact it's a good place at a good price"
"While working in Hastings I needed to find accommodation for 1 final night &
I found Alexander’s hotel on Carlisle Parade on the website & booked my stay through Hotels.com.
Upon arrival I was greeted by the owners Keith, Wendy & Misty the very clever owners dog.
After explaining why I chose their hotel apart from the cost etc they immediately upgraded my stay to a double room facing the seafront which was perfect with an ensuite power shower a large comfortable bed which gave me a great night’s sleep.
I work in Hastings a few months of the year & would certainly recommend staying at Alexander’s hotel if you want value for money & a convenient base to explore all that it has to offer."
