"We enjoyed our stay here, there was plenty of room to spread out, the beds were comfy and our host was very nice and welcoming. We didn't realize that it was geared at people with dogs and some were barking a bit & running around the courtyard but it was overall pretty quiet and also only a few blocks from the beach which was nice to walk on in the morning. "Family-friendly property but definitely a bit dated. The elevators had a funky smell. The living space was huge and the in-room bottomless beer amenity was pretty cool. Overall, it wasn’t bad for a short weekend trip to Hakone. "

"I stayed at 5 different accommodations during my visit to Japan, and Ryokan Plum was by far my favourite - it was a shame that I could only stay for one night! I stayed in the traditional tatami room, which exceeded all of my expectations. It was beautiful! The host (I forget her name) who greeted me upon my arrival was very kind and welcoming. I would highly recommend Ryokan Plum to anyone visiting the Hakone/Odawara area. "
