"Great host and communication. The house is cozy and it had everything we needed. The air conditioning was great in the Japanese heatwave. In just under 10 minutes, you can walk to some of the nicest streets in Kyoto with temples and cafes. "If I could give them 10 stars I would. Staff were very accommodating, helpful and friendly. There is an excellent bakery on the first floor as well as the restaurant. I managed to snag some fried fish tacos and they were delicious (and I’m from Texas). The cocktails served on the 6th floor patio were amazing. There’s a great vibe there."

The staff was friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help whenever I had a question. The location was convenient, with shops and restaurants nearby, which made exploring the area easy. Overall, the property exceeded my expectations and made my trip even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area and look forward to returning in the future."

"Good hotel, well placed if you are looking to be very close to the touristy area. Very close to a train station, tons of services around as well. Bed is comfy, with a firm mattress. Bathroom shower is great, and having access to a public bath is a huge plus. Only caveat is that the hotel is mostly packed with tourists, which brings its own set of issues in the public bath (haven't seen anything outrageous, but definitely a few "no no" in bath etiquettes). Room has thick carpet, which was a bit of an issue for me due to allergies (they do vacuum regularly). Convenience store not even a 30 seconds walk away. For me, it's too close to the super touristy area, so I might think twice next time I book in Kyoto. It may sound picky, but to each their own in terms of what you look for in terms of experience. For the price and everything I listed above, hard to beat. They do not have a laundry facility, but there are two close by. Staff were super helpful, polite, etc"

"Excellent hotel. The staff was extremely helpful, as expected in a quality Japanese hotel. Even some of our unique requests were handled perfectly. The breakfast had both Japanese and western options; whatever you wanted, it was there. And most people spoke about how good quality it was. The room was great. Robes, slippers, beautiful pyjamas. Massive bathtub and excellent hot shower. Finally the location was excellent. A few minutes walk to higashiyama train station, a few more to sanjo station. The entire gion area is a few minutes walk, with all of the parks and temples and everything beautiful. Very highly recommended. I would go again."

"Great hotel opposite Kyoto Station so very handy. Room was spacious which is unusual in Japan. Had a laundry room which was only ¥600 to use although we had to hang up clothes in room as it didn't dry them completely. Loads of good restaurants nearby in station (who would have thought) as well as combinis. Several shopping malls close by as well. Overall a good hotel and one I'd stay at again."

"The room was clean and quite large, much larger than the typical Japanese hotel room. We were on a high floor, and the view was beautiful. The breakfast buffet is fine but not that extensive. For us, the highlight was the front desk staff, which made several calls for us to work out an unexpected difficulty (we don't speak Japanese). They were absolutely fantastic. We can't thank them enough."

"Hotel is in a great location just a few steps from the Hachijo exit of Kyoto station. The room and bathroom was very clean. Good sized room. Breakfast offers a good choice of Japanese and western dishes. The breakfast area can get a little hectic but is well managed. The staff at the hotel are very helpful and kind."
