The property is undeniably beautiful, with lush landscaping and a wide variety of thermal pools to explore. The water temperatures are enjoyable, though some pools feel more like warm baths than true hot springs. If you book one of the suites at the top of the property, be ready for a steep 1/4‑mile uphill walk, which can get old fast after a long day of activities. The rooms themselves are spacious, but the location makes quick trips back and forth a bit inconvenient. The food and bar service are fine, though nothing particularly memorable. The atmosphere is lively and family‑friendly, which is great unless you’re seeking a quiet, spa‑like retreat. One thing that stands out—in a strange way—is their checkout process, where they won’t let you leave until someone inspects your room for missing items. It’s not a huge deal, but it feels awkward and unnecessarily suspicious. Overall, Baldi is okay, especially if you want lots of pools and a resort vibe, but it’s not the strongest value in La Fortuna."
