"A beautiful and secure place to stay."

"We arrived at the hotel at 6pm, circled around the block four times and could not find somewhere to pull over to unload our luggage. The hotel messaged me and said we could park in a lot one street over. We drove by the parking area they suggested, and a homeless man was directing traffic into the area and graffiti was all up the walls of the ramp to the parking area. A block away we saw a man smoking out of a crack pipe and another with gloves on and an injection needle. Needless to say, I was uncomfortable parking our truck in the provided area and walking our luggage and kids across the street and around a building to the front of the hotel. I have no doubts the hotel is as cute as the pictures, but the parking situation and location are terrible. We didn't stay because we didn't feel safe leaving the truck in the provided area. The hotel refused a refund. I even had Expedia try to get one for us and they denied that as well. Anyways, this is only the second time out of all our road trips (we go on many) that I didn't feel safe and the first time I wasn't refunded our money."

"This is an historic hotel in LA. That's one of the things that made me select it...but once I got there and the awe factor passed, the hotel is showing its age. Is due for an upgrade specially at the rooms. Nothing is really bad, beds are comfortable, room is clean, etc. but I don't think is a 4 star Hotel anymore and definitely not worth the price tag, if you add the mandatory valet parking cost, it adds up quickly."
