「Good comfortable room, lots of tea, coffe, nice bar and lovely grounds. Probably would gave rated higher but noisy event on and was awakened by noisy people in the early hours (not hotels fault). Disadvantage is the place is like a rabbit warren and you'll need your hiking boots as rooms are far from reception.」

「We had a lovely stay at Ensana, Buxton Crescent. The room exceeded expectations & the Spa & swimming pool was perfect. The only criticism during our stay was the evening meal at the restaurant. We didn’t feel the food & service given matched the quality you would expect from a 5 star hotel. There are plenty of choices within walking distance of the hotel which we preferred. 」

「The staff were excellent especially Alistair who is very hospitable and informative of the history of the hotel and it's surroundings. All the staff were polite and accommodating and the breakfast was amazing 」

「The hotel had lots of character. We couldnt fault the room. Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The little touches like fresh milk and drinks in the fridge on arrival. Packed lunch every mornimg of our stay. Ideal location for exploring. The pianist in the restaurant in the evening was lovely.The food was very good.」

「A lovely stay, very close to Alton Towers. The staff were lovely & the continental breakfast varied & suited us well. The rooms are separate "chalets" with allocated parking spaces next to each front door. We were concerned that staying in a pub may be noisy, but had a very peaceful night's sleep! The beds were very comfy & the family room spacious enough for 2 adults & 2 teenage kids (as long as they are happy in bunk beds!) The rooms are very dated & could do with a freshen up. 「A very comfortable and friendly inn perfectly placed for exploring the Derbyshire Dales. Lovely, helpful staff.」

「We felt that the hotel offered very good value for money for a short few hour stay on route to our destination. It is true to say the hotel was full of charcter and one could easily imagine how beautiful it was in its heyday.... however time has clearly taken its toll. It seemed to have a variety of characters staying there..... Certainly one may feel vulnerable in the sirrounding area.... but the car park was close and included in the cost of the room. We have no complaints whatsoever. ...
