「I wish I could rate this higher than 5 stars. The location is beautiful. Breathtaking views. I prefer a more laid back and quiet vibe. Kula Maya and the town of San Marcos provided that. But when my group and I wanted to have more of an outing, San Pedro was a short ferry ride away. It felt so remote and convenient all at the same time. 「Room was small, but cheap and adequate. I used the bench outside my room to ponder, plan, read, surf and enjoy the flora. The grounds are a great garden. The staff, Cecilia and Joaquin, are wonderful. There is a bar/restaurant across the path, El Barrio, I highly recommend.」

「This hostel is a great choice in Santa Cruz. It's right in front of the dock so no rolling your suitcase over rocky paths. It's also a 4 minute walk to the party hostel Free Cerveza if you want to get that energy and use their dock, and a 10 minute walk to nice kayaking, paddleboarding and swimming. 「Location of hotel is perfect, in the middle of town but set back into lovely gardens so that you are away from noise and pollution of road. The hot spa is very relaxing and appreciated ! Staff is attentive and always cheerful. Rooms are clean, basic and in line with the rest of the place . 」

We loved this establishment because it captured the beauty of the lake while allowing us to enjoy our time away from all the noise.
