"We thoroughly enjoyed our Ryoken experience. We stayed in the Japanese style room and had dinner and breakfast. Both exceeded our expectations. The meals were served in our own private room and were very elaborate and delicious. So many different dishes were included. The staff were very nice. The onsen experience was also very fun. Finally, they made it so convenient to visit the snow monkeys upon arrival. Highly recommend. "

"Traditional Ryokan with many onsen baths. We had our own outdoor onsen which was nice but you could also use one of the other larger onsen by free reservation, these were great. Traditional Japanese meal for dinner which was lovely and very authentic feeling. Quite expensive."

"What a gem! Shibu Onsen Ichinoyu Katei is an experience in itself. A short ride from Yudanaka train station, this tradițional ryokhan is excellent. As soon as you arrive you will be greated by the hotel manager (okamisan) who is attentive and will answer any questions. Dinner and breakfast were included in the price and the food was amazing. "Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. From the pickup at the station to the drop off at the Snow Monkey Park, to the “key” to the local Onsen circuit…this was a welcome reprieve from the crazy pace of Tokyo and Kyoto. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, dinner and breakfast meals were all amazing and the rooms and facilities were clean and comfortable. I would go back in a heartbeat.
