「Take yourself back in time to an era we all want to recreate away from this troubling world. I was hoping for a spitfire to zoom overhead at anytime. A beautiful location within the Chatsworth estate in old style properties with plenty of character. Just a few steps away is a lovely local pub The Beeley Inn serving delicious food (the ox cheek is to die for,) agreeably it’s not cheap but you get what you pay for. Ideal for a special treat.」

「Fantastic, friendly and accommodating staff - food and service. Seriously the best lime and soda :), something so simple and yet… I have an adventurous palate, so was delighted to try a new taste sensation in the Brazilian cheese bread. The Bakewell dessert did not disappoint, was beyond expectation and ample for two spoons! Thank you. Photographic stroll over the bridge just behind the hotel - 100 metre walk. 」

「The perfect spot to enjoy the Chatsworth Estate and walk to the house. The food is delicious and all from the area. Everyone is so kind and welcoming I didn't want to leave!」

「Check in: at the bar. Wait for 5 minutes as the staff served at the bar at that time. Wifi: good. Room: spacious, clean. One grocery shop near by, 5 minutes walk. No self laundry service. Breakfast: not buffet except juoice, milk and cereal, ok, basic. 」

「This hotel is located in a beautiful old building with a gorgeous garden. The rooms are charming. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast each day and the bar in the evening. Nice wine selection! Its a great locattion for visiting Chatsworth House and the beautful scenery of the Peak Distict.」

「From arrival to departure... the experience was wonderful! We stayed in the three shepherds huts which are beautifully updated to a very high standard. Dinner was DELISH as was breakfast. AVOID paying via hotels.com because it caused serious checkout problems... but NOT the fault of The Plough Inn -- WE LOVED IT! 」
