Chicago Lake Shore Hotel

"The staff is super friendly and helpful. They’re still working on the property. The rooms are renovated. It’s not five star, but it was a great space to stay in while visiting from Los Angeles. I love the location Hyde Park/Lakeshore Drive and Lake views. The pool is not renovated yet. It was empty and peeling. I had several problems in their room. The first night the television didn’t work. They offered me another room, but I wanted to stay where I was because my friends were in the room above me. They fixed that problem in the morning, but the toilet stopped working. Someone came out and fixed that problem and I was fine until the next day when the AC went out. And that’s when they move to another room. Once again, the staff was super friendly and helpful. Those are things that they couldn’t control. One thing I must say is my friends had the same situation with the toilet not working and there was no one around to assist at the time that their toilet stopped working. They should have an emergency maintenance person on call 24 hours because you never know what can happen. Would I stay there again? Yes."

"The air was out in the lobby and the dinning area of the bar. We anticipated being able to eat and enjoy dining and the bar area during our stay but they never got the air conditioning running. It caused us to have to use a Lyft out each day to find dinner, have a drink etc. There was not a discount offered which I thought should have been offered being that many book hotels based off amenities. We also did not have access to a microwave in the general area for use. When I inquired they advised that I would have to rent one from them at a rate of $15 per day and they only had two available for the entire building. I requested to speak with the supervisor and I never received a call back. When we arrived at our check in time, our room was not available. We had to go to dinner straight off the plane. A little work that needs to be done to provide excellent customer service."

"We stayed here for two nights my son and I and everything was a 10 out of 10 the breakfast bar amazing they had veggie options turkey options, different type of eggs, bagels, waffles for toast, different types of potatoes from hashbrowns to sauté potatoes you name it they had it in a plate of a fruit. The rooms were really clean. The pool was a perfect size and a nice oasis to get away from the heat outside because it's indoor with glass surrounding it so you can see outside and it's open till 10 o'clock which is a huge plus since many people who are visiting, tend to be out during the day and then wanna come back and relax. I will definitely stay here again next year when I come to visit my family who live a little further down Michigan even the walk to their house was a good walk. The neighborhood is definitely walkable and the staff was certainly top-tier very friendly. Very helpful. There's someone there 24 hours several people from valet to the front desk staff"

While an additional deposit is required, which is not explicitly stated during the booking process, the transaction was handled efficiently. My deposit was refunded to my account within three days of my departure. I highly recommend this location."
