"Terrible experience— I booked a non-refundable room for three nights but left after the first night to stay elsewhere. The beautiful restaurant and pool I remember from staying there in the past is gone, and in its place there is a new building under construction. It’s very difficult to walk around the property due to that and other construction. There was a special dinner event we weren’t told about. When we checked it out, we were told it was only for those who had the all-inclusive plan though the sign nearby clearly said we could pay for dinner to join in. The experience felt so condescending, we found somewhere else to eat. The live music from the party, while excellent, was so loud that we couldn’t go to sleep at a reasonable hour-so much for family friendly. The pools were dirty. Just not a place I would ever revisit or recommend. "

"Was just an overnight stop, food is basic. Pool and outside area is very nice. Nobody offered too help with luggage coming or leaving. Requested a wake up call at 4:30 a.m. did not get and no hot water st 4:30 a.m. "

"Excellent resort all around. The staff are particularly wonderful and the whole facility is immaculately clean. The pool is large and didn’t feel full with shallow areas for kids. It is a smaller, family feel, non-party hotel which we liked. You can easily swim in the ocean out front of the hotel as well, nice and safe! Gracias Melia and staff!"

"This review was during renovations to the swim-up pool. The place seems fairly vacant, probably due to the cartel issue and possibly the renovations and fact they are switching to all-inclusive soon. I enjoyed the pool, especially after security sent families to the kid’s pool. I found very funny and nice acquaintances to hang with daily. I enjoyed the restaurant and pool food. The setting at the beach restaurant is beautiful and the staff were beyond wonderful. Everything I needed was available at the resort. I felt safe, cared for, and appreciated. Housekeeping was exceptional. The room is older but it was very nice and the balcony was wonderful with a view of the pool and bay. The bed was “heavenly.” A great escape for a single lady looking for a safe environment and an escape to relax. "

"Mainly stayed in the resort and did the Boat tour and the Port was very close so made it very convenient! Recommend going to Los Arcos and Colomitos beach - but snorkeling in March was not great! Air conditioning was good and the all inclusive Bar options were great! The pool was water was lukewarm to warm so was a different experience and definitely bring a tumbler with you as the drinks stay cooler or the plastic cups were filmsy and ice melted fast! The food was fresh and local which made it an experience - just don't compare it to the more elite resorts! We had some great tacos during the Fiesta but they only had 2 main restaurants and 1 bar snack. The smaller more private area with only 3 reservation slots for 3-4 time increments was okay - we got it each day we wanted to! The main thing is there is no elevator which was a little hard at times, and there was no coffee maker or even just water heater in the room if you wanted to have a morning drink if you woke up early or needed to leave for the airport. Also either do everything through Expedia or through the hotel website - we paid way extra keeping some expenses at the hotel directly! Overall was an okay experience and staff was very very friendly! Can't wait to try out their sister property and still visit again - just learned a lot after my first stay!"
