"Great location on the seafront, close to the train station and near where we wanted to visit (Preston Park). Staff were friendly and helpful when leaving our bags. From some reason the bar couldn't serve any drinks except coffee in the morning, even soft drinks. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. Doesn't have air con in the room but luckily there was a fan in the room as it was very hot when we stayed. There's no extractors fan in the bathroom so got very steamy and couldn't see in the mirror. Overall a good stay but the main disappointment is check in isn't until 4pm, which I think it way too late especially when check out is 11am."
"The highlight of our stay was definitely the staff. They were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help.
The hotel is currently undergoing refurbishment, which is much needed. Our room was comfortable enough, but it does require updating and a number of repairs. Paint was peeling from the walls in several places, and even a little preparation to remove the loose flakes before redecorating would make the room feel much tidier.
The shower mixer was faulty, so the water was either very hot or very cold. After reporting it, a member of staff arrived within seconds and helped us adjust it, which we really appreciated. Hopefully the shower will be repaired for future guests. The bathroom sink tap was also very loose and dripped constantly, which must waste a significant amount of water.
To be fair, this is an older hotel and a comprehensive refurbishment is clearly underway. Once the work is complete, I’m sure it will regain its charm.
Despite the issues, we’d happily stay here again. The location is excellent, with the beach directly across the road and easy access to everything Brighton has to offer. The outstanding staff and fantastic location more than made up for the temporary shortcomings."
"So much to like about this hotel / aparthotel... From the moment we stepped into reception; greeted with a very warm and friendly reception staff, who then offered a small bag of goodies as we were staying for more than 3 nights.
The room was incredibly spacious, clean, modern and with a delightful bathroom. A decent power shower, and very nicely presented.
Breakfasts were also very good; although a couple of small negative areas here. Need more than 1 coffee machine please. Often the queue at the peak of breakfast time was quite long. Secondly, you cannot get to the fridges as an example when fellow guests are perhaps pouring orange juice, instead you keep having to ask "excuse me" or become more patient perhaps.
Staff were amazing here too, the food selection and choice caters for everyone. The ham was oh so good!!"
