Very Clean, Great Location for easy access from highway. Great little snack market. The room was comfortable and so was the bed. The fridge made some noise when it clicked on and off and the walls were a little thin but overall a good experience. The breakfast was fantastic. Eggs, Sausage, Waffles, Coffee, toast, oatmeal, etc. Great stay.

I recently stayed at Comfort Inn Danvers hotel for two nights and had a very disappointing experience. On the first morning, I discovered a pile of cut human hair on the baseboard behind the bathroom door. I immediately informed the front desk, and the elderly man offered either a small $10 refund or some points for my Choice Privileges account. Given the unpleasant start to my stay, I expected at least a full night’s refund, but this offer felt inadequate. After breakfast, he told me he’d spoken with the manager and they’d agreed to issue points instead of a refund. However, the number of points promised was not enough to cover my stay, according to the Choice Hotels website. He also mentioned housekeeping would clean the room thoroughly. When I returned that evening, I found the bathroom still dirty—hair was visible on the floor and in the corner behind the bathroom door, suggesting the vacuum hadn’t been used at all. I went back to the front desk and spoke with a younger gentleman, who offered to switch me to another room. He also informed me he couldn’t handle the refund or points issue, so I was advised to follow up the next day. Despite the promise of points, they were never added to my account, even after a follow-up call. Days later, I’m still waiting for a resolution. The lack of cleanliness, inadequate compensation, and poor follow-through left me extremely dissatisfied with my stay.

### Disappointing Birthday Experience Despite Helpful Resolution. This hotel started out fine, but the rest of my visit was disappointing and stressful. On the second day, we discovered roaches in our room; unfortunately, the only option presented was to move rooms, with no additional assurances of cleanliness. As anyone acquainted with pest issues knows, finding roaches in one area suggests a larger problem throughout the property. With good intentions we decided tk stay since sometimes roaches can get in and it is hard to get them out. Matters worsened on the third day when we found a mouse in our room. One of my guests approached the staff to address our concerns, and the response was unexpectedly rude and condescending towards her. I assume it is because she is an older white woman. Reguardless it was far below the standard of customer service we anticipated based on the hotel’s reviews. Only when I personally spoke with the staff member did things change (a younger woman of color). Suddenly, the staff’s attitude was transformed: we were offered a full refund on the spot, and help was provided much more willingly and professionally. For us, the initial lack of empathy and sanitation overshadowed what was supposed to be a special birthday trip. While the refund was appreciated and ultimately helpful, future guests should be aware of these issues before booking and understand that resolution may require direct escalation to management.
