"Loved the property location. There was some construction being done, but they covered it pretty well. The only inconvenience I experienced was the gym not being located on the property. I had to go to a sister hotel and use that gym, which was about a 5 minute walk away so wasn't bad."

"We recently stayed at The Royal Hawaiian for eight nights. The hotel's greatest strengths are its beautiful grounds, historic charm, outstanding beachfront location, excellent boutiques, and consistently good food. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay overall. That said, there were several disappointments for a hotel at this price point. Our room had ants, the air conditioner was extremely noisy, the refrigerator hummed loudly throughout the night, and the bathroom was very small. Our resort-view room was darker than expected and overlooked the valet entrance. Housekeeping was inconsistent, and on one occasion our room was missed entirely until we called late in the afternoon. The Royal Hawaiian pool is quite small, although access to the Sheraton Waikiki pool is a nice benefit. The Sheraton pool, however, was consistently very crowded. The front desk was polite but not especially accommodating at checkout. We were unable to reserve a hospitality room in advance and late checkout was only available for an additional fee. We did appreciate being able to store our luggage and continue using the resort facilities after checkout. Overall, this is a beautiful, iconic property, but I expected more consistent room quality, housekeeping, and guest service from a luxury hotel."
