We visited during a quite time so it was very peaceful. The room was very clean and comfortable. We walked to nearby restaurants and shops. We looked forward to having a fure since we had a fireplace but too much smoke came out so we ended up not having a fire. Shower head was very high which made for a difficult shower but it was removable. Would definitely stay again!

I enjoyed my stay at the Ember Lodge. The rooms and living spaces were nice clean and decently comfortable. The staff on property was friendly and kind. I did NOT like the check-in time of (4pm), which was way too late for the rate I was charged. That was unacceptable and inconsiderate. I will think twice before lodging again here.

Hi Dennis,I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay + accommodations. I'm sorry to hear that you were annoyed with the check-in time. Check-in at most locations in Big Bear is 4pm. It give the cleaners time to turn over the room/cabin before the next guest; especially on a holiday weekend. Your cabin was available around 1pm. You were more than welcome to give us a call and find out what the earliest check-in time was. As for the rate you paid; we had a last minute cancellation, so you booked our last cabin during the busy holiday weekend.Hope you had a great weekend, nonetheless.

Heating system needs an update
The place is clean. Our first room the heater wasn’t working and the high was about 30 that day do the room was freezing. They called a repair guy quickly. When it didn’t fix they were very nice about giving us a new room and upgrade at no extra charge. That room had two heaters. One worked well. We couldn’t get the other one to turn on until the morning. There was plenty of hot water. Their heating system needs an update.

Too much smoke from other cabins fireplaces
The stay was great other than the strong smoke smell from the other cabins. I originally thought it was from our fire place but we put it out and removed the wood from our room and the Smokey smell would come back stronger on and off through the night and just to be sure I went outside and noticed both cabins next to us had their fireplaces lit. That was the only negative of the cabin

It was super cute and clean ! It had all the amenities you need (fridge , microwave , coffee machine, ironing board/iron) bathrooms are stocked with clean towels they even have a fire place inside the rooms and you can purchase wood and fire starters in the lobby. Check in was smooth and they were very friendly definitely will come back ❤️

Not A Favorite
The place is quaint but really needs to be renovated. No A/C was a surprise. With windows open one hears traffic all night. Ceiling fan needs its separate light switch. Room is overall dark. The bed was extra firm, and although I like a firm bed, this one was FIRM.

Disappointing Selection
We chose this motel based on the Hotel.com ratings. What the heck people!? This Lodge is on noisy BB Blvd, the property is unkept the room although ADA listed, was crowded and a wheelchair would be difficult to manuever. Off street parking, yes, but again, no HC space and far from room for someone with a disability. The decor was cabin trendy, room was dark and had a strong fireplace smell. The ceiling fan / light chain was disfunctional and could not be used independently. On the plusbside, the office staff was friendly and effecient.

Very disappointed by this place. Has so much potential but has not been kept up well. Needs a lot of cleaning and updating. Old everything. Feels dirty. Didn’t want to even walk on the floors. Bathrooms are so small could barely sit on the toilet without hitting my knees or head on the wall. No place to put anything either. Very poor use of space as well. The outdoor area is in need of some TLC as well.

You get your own cabin. It’s like a tiny house. The daily rate is pretty cheap, but they lose points for a rather dirty and grimy rooms with many items that require repair. The bathroom wood tiled flooring has deep cracks. The living room electrical outlet is broken. The kitchen window latch is so greasy that my fingers are greasy after touching it to open and close the window. The linens and pillows are very old and have bad smell. The furniture is at least a decade old. Nonetheless, the internet is free and included. The refrigerator and microwave works well and convenient. Consider booking with this in mind and if you mind.
