"The hotel is right near all of the historic center sites so it is only a quick walk to get to. The hotel is an old Spanish-colonial style building, so you feel like you’ve stepped back in time BUT the bathroom and all the amenities are modern. The staff was wonderful; I had an early morning tour and the owner prepared me breakfast so that I could have coffee, and another staff member made sure I got in my Uber to the airport late at night. I felt incredibly safe here and will stay here again when in Quito."

"Unique historic property convenient for walking around the old quarter of Quito including the Independence Square and San Francisco Plaza. Note, traffic is frequently backed up in this area's narrow streets and your Uber or taxi may take awhile on the last three blocks. Spacious rooms, traditionally furnished, with modern bathrooms and excellent wifi service. Comfortable bed. All rooms face an inner roofed courtyard and have no exterior windows. My room also had an unusual glassed-in air shaft containing a very large potted plant. Restaurant had good service and well-prepared traditional dishes. The breakfast buffet had a wide array of hot and cold choices. An excellent value overall."
