"Bet tender was so kind, there was an older man in suspenders that melted my heart, the view was beautiful, I think the patio should be a bigger selling point on the website, the room was exactly what it needed to be, pillows were fantastic, and I wish I could have stayed a bit longer and had my family with me. They would have LOVED it. "

"Whenever I entertain someone who has never before been to NJ (yes, I know - I’m often shocked by this as well) then I give them a driving tour and then we stay at the Empress Hotel. It’s a slice of old-school Asbury Park that I enjoy showing off, along with the Boardwalk, Convention Hall, and some of THE best restaurants anywhere - full stop. The Empress is comfortable, clean, affordable, free parking is behind the building, it’s located right across from the Boardwalk/beach, and the staff are absolutely wonderful. My friend from the Seattle area arrived early and we were able to check-in several hours early so she could refresh herself before we painted the town. My original reservation was for two nights but when my friend needed to leave a day early then I was only charged for one night. Staff were very friendly and accommodating - I will continue to take folx to the Empress to give them a taste of what Jersey has to offer. Stay here - or I’ll make you an offer you can’t refuse! 🐴"

"It was only an overnight stay, as we were in town for a basketball tournament. The staff were pleasant enough. No one was particularly outgoing but they did their jobs. The facilities were clean and well lit. Didn't feel drab. No stale smells or anything. I'd stay again. "
