"Lobby area was good and clean. Fairly busy at times. Downstairs bar was very busy, not enough staff to cater for the guests. Lift access was somewhat confusing and not explained properly to the guests, there should have been someone standing at the lift to explain how it works. Room was average and it was facing the back of the hotel, the air conditioning generator was outside and omitting a very loud sound all day and night. We had to ditch the fridge off too as that was making loud clicking sound too. If you want a peaceful night sleep then it’s not an ideal room. Beds and pillows were comfy. Bathroom very average and worn out. Location was at Marble Arch, 1 minute walk from Oxford street. Plenty of eateries and shops. Perfect location for shopping."

"We recently stayed at the Mitre House Hotel and overall had a pleasant experience thanks to the excellent staff and location. Everyone we encountered at reception, the bar, and restaurant was friendly, welcoming, and very helpful throughout our stay. The hotel itself is charming and full of character, set in a historic building in a lovely Kensington neighborhood. It’s also very convenient for Paddington Station, only about a 5–6 minute walk away (though be careful to use the correct station exit). Our balcony overlooked a beautiful street, although signage recommended not to use it. The included breakfast was adequate with plenty of toast and tea, but it was fairly basic and not what I’d consider a full English breakfast (no sausages and only 1 bacon) The main downside was the layout of family rooms 101/102. The setup is awkward for families with younger children: two separate rooms with two different keys, and both doors spring shut automatically, making lockouts easy. The kids’ room has no bathroom, so bathroom access is either through the main bedroom or via a public hallway entrance, which isn’t ideal. The rooms are also very small, with limited outlets and storage. The bathroom was cramped, with a half shower curtain that easily floods the floor. Overall, the setup may work for families with older children, but I wouldn’t recommend it for younger kids. Also, the lift is very small and slow."

"The room and shower booth were on smaller side but had good view of pretty green park, good heating and most of all, very accessible location from Paddington Station, major transit hub. Drinking water faucet is in the lobby. Paid capsule coffee and soft drink vending machine too."

"The hotel is in a great location, 5 minutes walk from Paddington station and around 5 minutes walk to Hyde Park. There are many great places to eat and some great pubs nearby. I have been to the Paddington area many times in the past, but staying in the area this time, I was really surprised how much there is available so close to the hotel. The room was on the 3rd floor and was quiet which we appreciated. There was the occasional rumbling noise, presumably from the underground system being so close, however it wasn't an issue at all and was strangely 'soothing' and if anything helped get a good sleep. The room was very small, however it had everything which we needed and was very well designed to make the most of the limited space, it even included a good sized, quiet mini-fridge. One of our medium sized suitcases was placed on the provided luggage rack, but the 2nd suitcase had to go on the floor, between the outside wall and the bed. This was a little tricky having to step over the suitcase to get into bed. There was no elevator, but I think this is typical with these Victorian properties. The staff carried our suitcases to our room when we checked in, and carried them down when we checked out. The only negative is that there was no a/c, however there was what looked like a new unit on the wall but they wanted us to pay 10 pounds a day extra! The staff were great, always available and keen to help in any way they could. I would not hesitate to stay here again."
