「Peter and Sheila were wonderful hosts. They gave us ideas of where to eat and places to see. Breakfast was very good and enjoyable with them providing information about the area. If we return to the Northumberland area we will definitely return there to stay again.」

「The cottage is next to the main road. No staying up late in bed in the mornings, the road noise woke us up from 7am. Quiet at night. The location is good, very central to explore Northumberland. Cottage well equipped, especially the kitchen. Communication was good with host. Good options for restaurants (3 within walking distance) and take aways, Coop and Budgens in the village. 」

「I rarely leave negative reviews for independent B&Bs, but this stay was extremely disappointing. The room I was allocated was not the room type I had booked. It was advertised as a double room but was actually two single beds pushed together, leaving an uncomfortable gap between them. The room itself had several maintenance issues. There was a bad smell coming from the drain, the TV lost signal for most of our stay, the blind was broken and permanently stuck open, and the ground-floor window...

「The meals were excellent both for quality and price, staff very helpful. The bed was comfortable however the windows did not close entirely. It was quite warm so not a major problem for us but the windows needed refurbishment so they be opened or closed easily. The electric shower was very weak. These issues were relatively minor given the pluses of staff, food and comfortable beds」

「The property was spotless and very homely. Everything you need was there and also lovely fresh flowers, milk and biscuits on arrival. There was even treats for the dogs. The staff were lovely that we had met also. You definitely need to take a torch as its very dark at night trying to walk the dogs.」

「Fairfield house was well situated close to Warkworth and the beach. The hosts were excellent, very attentive with lovely little touches like freshly made cakes left each day and nothing was too much trouble. Fabulous breakfasts. Highly recommend.」
