「Really good stay for 1 night before an early flight. Nice meal in restaurant」

「Pub was dated, and our room had a shower/toilet in a pod, so read the small print when booking. The pod was extremely small with little room to manoeuvre and the extractor fan did not work. Also music could be heard in our room from downstairs. The positive is the shower was warm, the staff extremely friendly and the breakfast good. Also the local clientele were warm, friendly and welcoming」

「Lovely, clean, and comfortable room. The bed and mattress were of excellent quality, and I had a very good night's sleep. We had dinner in the restaurant, which was fantastic. The portions were generous, and the food was of a very high standard. We stayed in the family room and, unfortunately, there was a noticeable iron burn mark in the middle of the carpet. 「Hotel is large and difficult to manoeuvre with suitcases. Room was dated, but river view was lovely.」

「Welcoming staff and parking is a positive. The toilets and showers are very poor. Doors on toilets don't lock properly, showers are very poor, no cleaning soap in shower or toilet or they were broken. This was on the 3rd floor. Don't know why I was on the third floor s there weren't many guests. Some guests I noticed leave a lot to be desired. I suppose you get what you pay for. This place is in need of a complete overhaul especially the toilet and shower facilities.」

「We booked this at the last minute as we were travelling up to the Scottish borders and wanted to break the journey due to the extreme heat. We arrived very late (about 11pm) but we had called the hotel in advance and one of the staff agreed to wait for us. When we did arrive we were greeted with a very warm welcome. Our one regret is that we didn't have time to make use of the observatory (yes you read that right!) All staff very friendly and helpful and loved the breakfast」
