「First of all, when I booked this room I was not expecting a 4 or 5 star hotel. That said the woman at the front desk was very welcoming and helpful. The room, however, had a few quirks. It was clean, but the lighting was dim even with the 4 available lights/lamps turned on. The bathroom sink was very slow draining and the TV remote only worked on the volume. I later found out that pointing the remote at the cable box instead of at the tv would've solved that issue. The quirks were not...

「This is a lovely historic hotel in the ideal location in downtown Durango. The two taverns with live music had good food and drinks but we mostly enjoyed the music. The whole hotel has such an elegant decor. We loved our stay and would recommend this hotel.」

「Very nice staff and helpful. We did have to ask for shampoo but most of the time people have their own. The room was clean and well kept. Friendly from beginning to end on a two night stay. Wonderful location to be able to get to downtown and back. And the staff gave us wonderful advice on where to go to eat.」

「Generally the hotel overall does need a bit of a face-lift. It is quite dated! However my husband and I had a very spacious room, with a small refrigerator, a microwave and a small terrace leading to the river and river walk. Very quiet and scenic! The hotel is dog friendly, many dogs were there, but sound proofing must be good, because we never heard any noise. Our room would have been perfect for a doggie family, Bruno could go straight to the grass, without going through the hotel....
