「The management of this hotel seem to be under the impression that adding "boutique" to the name is sufficient to give it a veneer of quality. Unfortunately the name is where that veneer abruptly & catastrophically ends. I’ll start with the 1 positive - the staff were all fine – no issues there. The hotel itself is dilapidated and old - water dripping from the ceiling in the bar, signs hanging off walls, carpet that ends 2" short of the wall, but the real joy begins when you go upstairs. 「Lovely hotel on the sea front. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Shops, restaurants, steam railway all within walking distance. The breakfast was excellent. The complimentary soft drinks and snacks were a nice touch. Room was adequate for a 1 night stay, lovely bathroom & comfortable bed. Would return again and recommend to others」

「The opel express was very clean and the breakfast very good with plenty of choice the room had excellent amenities provided ,with a kettle in room and tea coffee and water topped up daily, only saw staff at breakfast and checkout, it was self check in with key to room left in a safe, the room did have a ceiling fan which was very noisy and could only use with the light on, I was there during a very hot period so not much comfort throughout the night, the view from the room was not good looking...

「The room is clean and tidy. The breakfast is good with different options. The hotel is a little bit far from the ferry pier, it takes about 25 mins to walk there. If you have luggage, you'd better call a taxi, the taxi fare is reasonable anyway. 」

「The staff are as always are lovely and the food wonderful - quality, variety and quantity. Maybe signs making reference to noise levels in the room corridoors could prompt some guests to be aware of others. The bar is lovely, decor and clean and impeccable service but an idea could be to put sport on just one of the tv screens and maybe Sky news on the other with subtitles.」
