Room was clean, not especially warm. No comfortable chair to sit in the evening which was especially an issue for my 80 yr old mother. Good selection of breakfast options. Attentive breakfast staff. Carpet in halls looking grubby. Parking okay. Easy to find from the ferry port.

The breakfasts were amazing, a lot of choice, not just the usual standard british breakfast. The staff were very good. The owners was very helpful when we had a medical emergency. The hotel is well located with a short walk to Douglas beach and the shops within easy reach. The only drawback for us was the stairs. There were a lot of them up to our room and no lift, but apart from that we had a lovely stay.

The location was good - a little way up the hill and near the end of the horse drawn tram. The room was relatively cool despite the heatwave and no air conditioning. Like the majority of accommodation places in Douglas, the hotel was a relatively narrow building with many floors and no lift, so be prepared for stair climbing! The breakfast was superb with so much choice. The cooked part was cooked to order so was always very fresh. We would recommend staying there.

Attentive, friendly staff. Kevin was great along with the breakfast and cleaning staff. Good, central location. Clean, well maintained rooms. Too much peripheral noise. Loud talking and snoring heard through walls of neighboring rooms. Some sort of sewer flushing pipe/drain in courtyard outside our window whooshed frequently.

The Devonian serves as an exceptional choice for budget-conscious travelers seeking convenience in Douglas. Positioned just a short walk from the promenade, local attractions, and dining, it offers a superior location compared to many other economical accommodations in the area. Our guest room was exceptionally clean and featured the added comfort of a private bathroom. The morning breakfast was competitively priced, complemented by outstanding, attentive service throughout our stay. Accessibility Considerations Stair-Only Access: The property lacks an elevator, which is typical for traditional buildings in the area. Mobility Note: Navigating the staircases—particularly to the upper floors—may pose a challenge for guests with mobility impairments. For solo travelers or groups without physical accessibility needs, the Devonian offers fantastic value, and I would gladly return for future visits.
