「Hotel Maria Isabel in Ataco was such a cute, cozy family-owned stay. The hotel was small, peaceful, and had such a welcoming atmosphere. Our room and bathroom were both very clean, which we really appreciated. There was no AC and unfortunately the fan in our room didn’t work, so we had to keep the windows open at night. But honestly, the hospitality made up for it. The breakfast was SO good, and the man at the front desk — who I think may have been the owner — was the sweetest. He was funny,...

「We arrived late but the security guard made it easy for us to park. Staff very friendly, breakfast was great. The access to the lake is so close to the property. The double bedroom that we booked was more than enough. Would recommend to anyone who travels to Lago de Coatepeque.」

「We stayed here after hiking the Santa Ana Volcano. We were able to use the thermal pools for our aching bodies and got a massage a the spa. The food was not great but the service was good. Crazy roads leading up to the hotel as well. Otherwise the staff was very accommodating and the pools were great.」

「Bedbugs!!! One bit my aunt during our stay. She caught it and killed it. I’m sure there’s more where that came from. Also , arrived at 4:30pm ish , check in is at 3! So even arrived late, but our room wasn’t available bc it had not been cleaned. We waited another 2 hours for our room to be “cleaned” in 100+degree weather. Many were having the same problem even the VIP. Members or whatever it’s called.」
