「Great hosts」

「 Tracey was a brilliant hostess: friendly, helpful and always cheery. The breakfasts were excellent and while the room was somewhat compact, it had everything you need, including a very comfy bed! Stairs were a challenge, especially to one who has dodgy knees! Also, parking is an issue, although there is a dropping off zone. In all, a lovely stay and would return when next in Hastings.」

「The hotel is old but very nicely maintained and uniquely decorated; great food in the bar/restaurant, though a bit pricey for a very small community like this. Staff are helpful as well.」

「Good onsite parking within a very short walk to Battle high street and abbey but unfortunately the abbey park grounds were closed but none the less had a lovely pre Christmas one night stay at the Chequers, the food was of good quality both evening and breakfast, staff friendly and helpful, the room spacious and mattress very comfortable but could all do with refreshing but bear in mind it is a very old Inn circa 1478 but what is really needed are blackout blinds on the windows as our room was...

「The hotel wad in a good location within 10 mins walk of the centre of Rye. Free parking was a real benefit. Hotel staff were all very welcoming and friendly. The room was clean, quiet and spacious with a nice view looking out over the river. Breakfast was cooked to order and was very tasty. We enjoyed our stay at the Haven hotel and would thoroughly recommend. 」
