Dover Marina Hotel & Spa, Tapestry Collection by Hilton
8/10 Good
"We booked the hotel for an overnight stay before embarking the ferry to France. The rooms are small but clean. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent. There is also a Starbucks cafe in the building which we used for a morning coffee."
"This was a really disappointing day. We found the rooms were not very clean very dusty dirty corridors the whole hotel is dated. The problem is the cleanliness. When we had breakfast, the plates were not clean. The whole pool area was dirty. The toilet et cetera were not very nice. Wi-Fi was okay. Breakfast wasn’t great. The milk had gone off in the large container and I told them it had gone off and it took about 20 minutes for them to replace. For a four star hotel, it wasn’t a nice experience. The Jacuzzi was also broken. It was my husband‘s birthday. I put that in the notes I also told staff and they didn’t even bother to wish him happy birthday. "
"We had no hot water in our room so couldn’t use the bath or shower, the air conditioning unit did not work and the room wasn’t well cleaned. I have to say that after speaking with the staff at the hotel they were very helpful and did offer a refund for the affected night, but we did check out a night early to find a different hotel as the problems weren’t resolved and a new room couldn’t be offered due to it being fully booked. It’s quite run down and was a disappointment, we expected it to be nicer than it was and definitely expected the basic things like hot water to work. It is in a great location, right in the center of everything and good for a night but if you’re looking for something more romantic for say an anniversary then I would probably avoid. It’s a shame as it could be much nicer if it had a bit of TLC."
"What a wonderful welcome from Hannah and the team. Brilliant stay and wonderful breakfast. They are currently carrying out a refurbishment (hence 4 rather than 5 stars for the actual hotel). Didn't impact, other than the restaurant being closed but wow from what they've done so far it's going to be stunning! Great location too"
"Our floor was shut off so we had to go up a floor and then down the fire escape to get to our room!
We had food in the hotel but the food took ages and our kids dessert came out after asking for it three times!
In the room next door there was some much noise! Someone else had call security that came but instead of say that they heard them a came to see what was going on they told them someone had complained!! The guy in the room went mad and kept asking who complained!! My wife and children were in the room on their own at the time and felt unsafe.
Overall it the worst stay I have ever had. When we left I did say to the receptionist who said that the manager my email me but I have heard nothing."
