「There is a great Mexican restaurant next to it which makes it an easy place to stop on a long trip. They definitely need new towels. They were tiny, thin and one actually had a hole in it!」

「The room was adequate, dated and clean but not a deep clean due to the age. The breakfast nook was the worst I have ever walked into. It was dirty and the appliances were dirty. I got a sealed yougart and left. From what I could tell the quality of the food was very low.」

「I hated the fact that it looked as though the Bedsheets and pillows weren’t laundered. Impossible to reach anyone at the front desk to address the issue. There was someone else’s hair on the pillows. Stains on the sheets and towels in the bathroom. The carpet in the room was also dirty and grungy as if it had never been cleaned in its life. Never will I stay here again.」

「The staff were very friendly and helpful, my son loved the pool and we enjoyed the hot tub. Waffles, sausage, eggs and others for breakfast, we couldn't have had a better stay!」

My only complaints would be that breakfast was cold and dry on our first morning and the pool was cold.」

「We always stay at the Gateway Hotel when visiting Ames. The location is right off highway 30 and close to ISU. We appreciate that they’re dog friendly and only charge $50 per stay, up to one week. This last stay we were disappointed that the coffee offered in the lobby was empty both mornings and it seemed the lady at the desk could not be bothered to make more. The breakfast buffet is NOT included with your stay and ,in my opinion, is not worth the cost. Go across the road to The Filling...

「We had access to the whole area, livingroom, kitchen and bedroom bath. It was a lovely establishment and the hosts were very friendly.The breakfast was wonderful. If you book directly with them it is free.」

「There was No actual employee in the building the entire time we were there. It was a computer that we had to check in on. People hanging around the building all hours of the night. Don’t even think they were staying there. Breakfast area was so disgusting, trash everywhere, milk sitting on ledge outside the kitchen. Sheets had stains and smelled like urine. Went to a different hotel the rest of our stay! Gross!」
