"Property was well maintained and staff was friendly. Our only issue was the AC did not stay on throughout the night and we were constantly trying to get the thermostat to maintain a cool temperature during the summer night."

The Cove At Salem

"There was plenty of parking, which made my stay very convenient. It's about a 20-minute walk to downtown Salem, and I enjoyed being able to walk into town. I do think the room could have been cleaned a bit better, as the end tables hadn't been wiped down. The TV screen also appeared to have chemical damage, with pink drip marks visible across the top of the screen. I notified the front desk before checking out so they were aware. Fortunately, the bathroom and bed were both very clean and well maintained, which was the most important part for me. The front desk staff was incredibly kind and welcoming. Overall, I had a wonderful stay and would definitely consider staying here again."

"AMAZING!! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We were surprised and pleased with a gift of bottled waters and chips. The room was very clean! The staff brought us extra pillows because I accidentally booked a king size instead of two queens so my son and I could build a pillow wall between us HAHA! and they brought us hot extra towels because we caught in a thunderstorm storm while out on a tour. The amenities were great too! We used the iron and ironing board, we watched movies on the apps, loved the views from the room! We used the fridge too. Overall it was our favorite stay on our New England Road Trip"

"The property was very convenient to everything in Salem including the short walk to the commuter rail depot to Boston. Our room and the bathroom were very small, which was disappointing since we stayed there 5 nights. When we checked in I asked the desk attendant if we could get a bigger room and she told me I should have done this request with Expedia prior to checking in. I was ot happy with her attitude and unresponsiveness. In summary it is a great historic hotel and very convenient."

Mainsail Inn & Cottages

"Unfortunately I wouldn't stay here again. The room was clean and very comfortable, but it was on the third floor which was difficult for me. The wi-fi didnt work. The TV didn't appear to work, I had to dig behind it and found that it was unplugged. I plugged it in and the signal "was too weak". They have a snack vending machine, but no drink machine. The door had one keyed lock. No deadbolt or chain. The good. Free on-site parking, clean room, friendly staff, and reasonably priced. It just wasn't for me."
