"The property is in decent shape for it's age. There are some areas of peeling paint and mis-matched knobs. The wait staff were outstanding! There were some issues, we had to wait 3 days for someone to bring water to the room via a request. The reservations for the restaurants with the concierge was a a struggle. They don't tell you where said restaurants are located or what type of food they serve or what the hours of service are. Since my husband had never been and I haven't visited there since 2005 or so. It was a challenge to find things. A few days later we meet some folks that told us we could get a map at the front desk, that map was not up to date with new restaurant names and locations. Again more frustration. We had a room up-grade from and casita to a swim-up casita, in the new room the fridge wasn't working and the ac unit made a clicking noise all night long. As a former travel agent I find it all just a too bit much to deal with when you go on vacation to relax and if is a bunch of hurry up and search for this or that. One more thing, I wouldn't recommend the El Dorado Royale/Casitas to clients that have limitations on walking because the so called shuttles are not on a regular schedule. It seemed like they were always going the opposite direction we were. Just a shout out to Carrasco our pool bartender, He was Outstanding! Always with a smile and a cold drink.. "

"Air conditioner in a room was so loud and was jumping in every 10 minutes. Horrible Wednesday dinner at la Pagoda restaurant shrimp with garlic sauce gave me food poisoning. Its Saturday and im still sick."
