The room was clean although in need of an upgrade. Bed was comfortable. Needed assistance to open the balcony sliding door, was very hard and stiff. Staff were very pleasant and helpful, service could not be faulted.

We were in Hawaii for 2 weeks, and stayed at several hotels, and the Plumeria Hilo Hotel had the best room by far because ut was more like an apartment than just a hotel room. There was a fridge, micorwave, hot plate, dishes, etc. A bit a road noise, but the beach was close by.

Located in the center of Hilo 5-15 minutes away from everything, 45 minutes from Kilauea lookout. The building is older and the lower floors are private businesses but you basically only go to the elevator and the coffee shop. Short but beautiful drive north if Hilo town. Views if the bay and break wall, bridges of river crossings etc. as you drive back!
