"The lodge was a fun step back in time. It had 70s/early 80s feel of a simpler time.
The the staff was great, the room was clean and comfortable. Highly recommend for a night in Volcano park"
"Balcony room with full resort view was the best. Very clean and good breakfast. Really good pizza and pork belly. Burgers were not so good. Drinks are just ok as well."
"amazing spot in Hilo town. The hustle and bustle sounds can be heard right in the area of this establishment. But, it shows that the Big Island is reviving back. The staff are an international group and well versed in customer service. The guests that stays here are pretty much a like-minded bunch."
"This place is magical, cozy, and romantic and is located on 3 acres of beautiful plants and gardens. It is a wonderful place that perfectly expresses an Asian sensibility of relaxed order and beauty. The 100-year bungalow has been beautifully updated with all the modern amenities needed (the shower and toilet room is really, really beautiful and peaceful). The bungalow is located a few steps away from the owner’s shop featuring excellent art of all kinds from Hawaiian artists. Ira Ono, the owner, is an award-winning artist and a gracious host. His bungalow is perfectly located to explore Volcano National Park. We didn’t get to eat at his Cafe Ono but other entries in the guest book indicate everyone thought it wonderful. We highly recommend it for 1-2 people."
"Great location and room was perfect! We traveled as a family of four and this location was perfect for our visit to volcano national park.
Loved hearing all the frogs and birds of the forest at night.
Would have stayed two nights if we could have"
