"This used to be my school until 1982 and it has been lovingly restored into a beautiful hotel with great amenities in amazing grounds. Ample parking and a safe environment leads to a peaceful and relaxing stay. "

The bad: Probably my incorrect expectations but was expecting room AC for a 4* The ugly: Brave the unlit path, if you dare, to get to the Chineham shopping centre. No fault of the hotel but Hampshire County Council should sort this out as its an accident waiting to happen! "

"The hotel is located within easy walking distance of public transport. The room was comfortable and generally calm. Reception staff and cleaning staff were friendly and helpful. The gym is really excellent. Certainly one of the best I have used, well provisioned with excellent equipment, water, apples (a really nice touch) and towels. The only complaint is that we had to ask for the room to be 'refreshed'. "

"The hotel was ok. We booked an executive double room, areas of it could do with updating the sofa was very hard and stained. We were on tbe ground floor but we’rel left with no choice but to sleep with the patio door open as the heating was blasting out. The Spa is in need of some serious attention, the Jacuzzi has clearly been out of action for months, and it doesn’t look like anything is going to be done about fixing it any time soon. The changing rooms are in need of a deep clean and tbe chairs in the spa reception are all in need of replacement as all have ripped upholstery. One evening we went to the bar the glasses we were given were dirty (both had visible lipstick marks) breakfast was adequate for the price, but fairly basic. "

"Large hotel, Chalet style with large rooms, good amenities and clean bathrooms. Good choice of bar food and usually showing live sport, otherwise quieter more formal dinning room and lobby area serving drinks and food. Easy parking and very pleasant staff, overall very welcoming stay."

"It was a comfortable bed but lacking in other areas. After seeing the picture of the hotel it was disappointing to find our room was not in the main hotel but the garden Annex. This was an unpleasant looking concrete building detached from the hotel and quite a walk in poor weather. Also we were left with only one 2 even though it was a booking for 2. Also we were convinced that we had chosen the package with breakfast but it turned out this was not part of it. So I cannot comment on the food. "

"We are vegetarian so the breakfast menu was ok but not that vast for us. There were still great options. The staff were friendly and helpful. I think the rooms were clean but needed a bit of an upgrade in terms of things looking a bit old. Overall we had a great stay."

"Excellent from start to finish. From Zara's warm and friendly welcome to the peaceful environment, I enjoyed the positive vibe, peaceful sleep and great facilities. Would highly recommend and will be back in future"
