"Everything was great. The hotel was clean, the property was clean and all the staff were friendly and helpful. I only have 4 complaints. First, when we arrived at our room with our bags we discovered the room was not clean, it was filthy from the previous occupant. How hard is it to know which rooms are clean and which ones are not? Second, when we went to check-out at 9pm, because we like to travel at night, we were told we couldn't check-out until morning. Well, my response was "that's too bad...

"The property was beautiful and very well maintained. It was nice to see that the design of the hotel as well as the decor kept with the Old Florida and Art Deco theme of Vilano Beach. The front desk staff, valets and housekeeping were all super friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and the bed was quite comfortable. The bathroom was a good size and very nice. Great location within a short walking distance to the beach and pier. They hotel offered a shuttle to the beach and pier as well. There is a grocery store and great coffee shop across the street, and also a few good restaurants within walking distance. Will definitely stay here again. "
"This hotel was rated a 2 star! Whomever rated it doesn’t know anything. A 4 star, staff was fantastic, rooms were spacious and clean, big pool. All the visitors we talked to were very happy with Southern Oaks Inn. Back in October and will rebook with them! "
