「A tastefully and comfortably modernised pub in a somewhat downbeat village near the M1 and airport but surprisingly quiet. The M1 is white noise in the background. I couldn't hear the planes. Rooms in the pub's grounds were comfortable with parking right outside and the food was amazing, including breakfast. No soggy mushrooms! If I was a lone female traveller I would feel particularly safe here. Very happy that we broke our journey overnight and will definitely do so again. 」

Use of spa ( not treatments) was a welcome bonus, but you need to be out by 10 am and return after 5pm if you are there for a few days if you have the bed and breakfast package only. 「A very well.appointed cottage in a brilliant location in the heart of Wooler. Everything was spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfortable. The owner was always very responsive when we had any queries. 「This was our third time staying at Mackworth House Farm and, as ever, Peter was the perfect host. The room was clean, tidy and spacious with a beautiful view of the garden. Check-in process was quick, and Peter was on hand to answer any questions we had. The breakfast options were plentiful, and there was a lovely pub a short distance away for evening meals/drinks.
