Top Lesser Antilles Hotel Reviews

Simpson Bay Resort, Marina & Spa
10/10 Excellent
"Everything was fabulous. Room faced the Marina."

Oyster Bay Beach Resort
8/10 Good
"I’m pretty sure I paid for a newer upgraded room, but I wasn’t in a newer room. The property really needs an update. The pool was the best part. If you’re not in the hotel all day long then don’t worry about it, but if you are going to stay in the hotel, I would look at other accommodations."

Jolly Beach Antigua - All-inclusive
8/10 Good
"Excellent beach front location. Bars good, food good. Everything is here for a great relaxing stay - but the property needs a good deal of updating and modernisation. I would stay again, especially if I knew some TLC had been applied, as it is decent value for an Antiguan resort. "

Bluebeard's Castle Resort
6/10 Okay
"Location is not great if you want to walk around to other areas. You can walk to ship docks and do some shopping over in that area. The restaurant has "ok" food that is quite overpriced. $66 for vigin daiquiri, omelet with hash browns, and a 2 egg hash brown bacon breakfast. Made the omelet incorrectly. Didn't have time to wait for a new one. Asked for money back and they only gave me $20 refund. Let me mention...$66 included tip. I gave $70 cash and they never gave me change. So soent $50 on one breakfast and one non alcoholic drink. Room was clean but the door would not close and the patio handle wouldn't work. Area "boasts" a pool, etc; Yes there is a small pool. Nothing fancy. Vending machines barely stocked. Fr I nt desk staff was hit or miss. Some were very friendly while others were very cold and not helpful at all. Concierge folks were great. Beds seemed comfortable. Pillows were good. Overall not a place i would return to just due to the location. "

The Morgan Resort Spa Village
10/10 Excellent
"Clean from and friendly staff"

Margaritaville Vacation Club - St. Thomas
6/10 Okay
"The room we were given had been heavily smoked in, at least in the past. All of our clothes smell, as do our bags and everything else. This was very hard to get past, and really reflected on our overall review of the resort.
The restaurant was ok, expensive for what you get. We took the quick 10 minute walk to Louie's Market to pick up some snacks and supplies, along with some really good good from the attached deli. This was far more cost effective than eating every meal at the hotel resturant.
We also had a meal at Sun & Sea Bar & Grill, which is a quick 5 minute walk down the beach from the resort. While it had somewhat of a dive appearance, the tables are right on the water and the food and staff were excellent. I would highly recommend visiting this place for at least one meal.
The two pools were nice and the kids enjoyed swimming. There were lots of loungers, plenty free most of the time. There were some things that definitely felt like deferred maintenance, especially related to the storm clean-up. But overall the resort itself was very nice and gave us plenty of things to do for the few days that we were there.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, offering golf cart rides to our room up the hill, and helping to handle our baggage. We enjoyed our stay, except for the horrible smell in the room."

Emerald Beach Resort
8/10 Good
"The ocean is 10 feet from the tables of the restaurant, with beach in between. The beach itself was very nice, lots of activity, jet skis, the Taco Taxi, etc. The waves were solid and it was very pleasant to sit near and relax.
The resort is in a nice location, the pool is close to the restaurant and beach as well, all conveniently located close together.
The hotel rooms themselves were fine. All rooms have an ocean view and are reasonably new and in fairly good shape. Our mini-split AC unit had trouble keeping up with the afternoon/evening sun, so our room was quite warm at bed time, but cool again by morning.
The hotel buildings are old, and in general most of the property has quite a bit of deferred maintenance. None if it wrecked the stay, but it was obvious that the resort was under staffed and is struggling to keep things in shape. As other reviews have shared, the restaurant was good, but the service is slow. If you're not in a hurry and are just relaxing, it's no big deal.
Everyone was very nice, and the front desk ladies were incredibly helpful with the advice they shared on beating the lines at TSA and making our flight on time. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely recommend the place for a few days stay. Much longer and you'd run out of things to do."

Royalton Antigua, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort
6/10 Okay
"Property was well kept Room was good but the people that clean the room was a issue like fogetting cups and coffee and clean towels room service the food was always cold Resteraunts were fair except for the sports bar which should be shut down most people were nice and some avt like they are doing you a favor even after you tip them "

Windward Passage Hotel
4/10 Poor
"We checked in at 6 p.m. and our room wasn’t ready. We had to wait about 25 min for a room. The air conditioning did not cool properly. We reported it to the front desk, they said that engineering would look at, but it was never fixed. We didn’t have a hair dryer in the room and were told that there was a shortage of hairdryers. They brought a travel size hairdryer that was at the end of its life and started smelling like it was burning as soon as I plugged it in.
The location of the hotel is pretty good, but it is definitely outdated and probably understaffed. "
