We had a wonderful stay at the Machiya Ebisuya. It's a bit far from Kyoto Station but still walkable, and really central to much they Kyoto has to offer. The room and amenities were great.

Fantastic location with a stunning building in traditional Japanese style. I highly recommend this place. The neighborhood is very well served, with convenience stores, restaurants, shops, and a supermarket all nearby. Everything is easily accessible and within walking distance.

This was a beautiful hotel! We stayed at some big hotels in Tokyo and wanted a smaller place to stay in Kyoto that reflected Japanese architecture. I found this hotel on Expedia and booked it and so glad I did! The hotel was beautiful with tradition Japanese look and feel but with all the modern amenities. The kids slept on mattresses in a screened off room and loved it. The front desk staff were all lovely, and the free washer and dryer were a big plus. We also had breakfast for W days

Wonderful quiet location. An easy walk to many areas. We had a three person room and it was comfortable and clean. We had a washer/ dryer in our room but it took a very long time to run a cycle. We should’ve used the laundry on the first floor. We could hear our neighbors at some point but it was never to the point where we could not sleep. The staff was very kind and helpful with our many questions. We would definitely stay here again!

The hotel is beautiful and clean. They offer complimentary coffee and tea which is great. The hotel is located only 10 minutes from Nishiki Market and the subway station. I will definitely stay here again next time I visit
