The property is beautiful and well maintained. The onsen was relaxing and the food delicious. The rooms were spacious with a great view and the staff was very helpful. Only snag might be due to translation errors, where when booking it seems as though you are booked for a dinner, but it doesn't actually reserve the meal. Would suggest anyone going here call hotel in advance to make sure they have sinner reservations set up.
This is one the best experiences in my life- very Japanese feeling. This is not just a hotel- this is life of true country. We got traditional room with great views. Everyone on my family enjoyed kimono they provided and hot volcano springs!
Service es top of the line! Traditional Japanese breakfast and dinners are very special and must to try! We really want to come back!!!
Overall, a great stay. I have to deduct a star because the restaurant only served the included traditional breakfast with our stay. We could not order or get added to the dinner plan when we arrived because it is a traditional dinner. My Wife and I were on our own for lunch and dinner. I didn’t know we needed an advance booking to eat at the restaurant for dinner. Hotels .com has a restaurant listed, so I figured we could just order off a menu. Luckily, there is a Family Mart and several Family run restaurants within walking distance. We recommend Sengoku Ukyo. Ate there for both dinners. Sweet family run restaurant. Senkyoro technically does have a restaurant, but only if you already made a plan to eat there. Breakfast was incredible. Just you wish they had an option to order other items for lunch and dinner so guests are not stuck walking in the cold weather. It was snowing during our stay.

The staff was very friendly and made sure everything went perfect for us.
Tutti i dipendenti molto carini
This onsen hotel was amazing! I always wanted to try futon and have meals in the room so we booked the Japanese style house with open-air bath annex building.
The hotel was very easy to find and it's right next to the bus stop. When we arrived there were staff welcoming us. There was no fault to their service, the room was very spacious, futon was soooo comfortable and the meal was amazing! Food was very high quality! So yummy.
The onsen was so nice too! Although it's super hot but we were able to add cold water into it.
One thing was the bathroom in the room was quite outdated but it's fine coz we used the shower outside instead.

On arrival were not impressed with the attitude of the front desk, not very accommodating at all, all the reception area lights were off it was not very inviting to say the least
The property although clean in some aspects could do with a little maintenance, balcony, sink, taps and bath.
On the plus side, food excellent, dining room staff excellent, night porter excellent.
The hotel also accommodated for my dislike of fish.
This was the most expensive hotel of our whole trip but certainly not the best.
We understand that the whole of hakone had just been hit by the typhoon and therefore appreciate that things where not normal with many people cancelling their reservations
. May be it would have been better to close for a few days and give refunds
Hyggelig lille japansk forhave
